GRANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
An organization must meet each of the following requirements to be considered as a potential recipient of a cash contribution from Synchrony:
- The organizations must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as an organization exempt from federal income taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity or be an accredited school or an organization within an accredited school system or a non-U.S. organization recognized as a charitable or educational organization under the applicable laws of the country in which the organization has been incorporated and operates its activities
- The organization must comply with Synchrony’s non-discrimination policy. Synchrony will not give charitable contributions to organizations that discriminate on the basis of a person's race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status or other characteristic protected by law.
- The organization must not be a church, mosque, temple, or other religious organization hosting religious worship, supporting religious activities or programs.
- The organization must not be a government agency or a political organization advancing political causes, candidates, events, legislative lobbying or advocacy
- The organization must not present any potential risk, or risk of being used to promote illegal activities, including the financing of terrorism. The organization must be in compliance with FCPA, tax and the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) guidelines
- The organization should have audited financials confirming they conform to generally accepted accounting principles from the most recently completed fiscal year (if not available, provide the most recent documents available, including a brief explanation of your substitution)
