Synchrony Supports: Small Businesses
Synchrony is proud to aid in the development of small businesses, both in the communities we call home and across the country. To follow through on this commitment, Synchrony partners with many nonprofit organizations whose specific mission is to support the growth and development of small businesses. One such organization we are proud to partner with is Operation HOPE. Synchrony has donated more than $2 million to Operation HOPE to date.
Operation HOPE was founded in 1992 with the mission of expanding economic opportunity for all and improving the financial lives of millions. Synchrony supports Operation HOPE through providing grants to support HOPE’s small business development initiatives such as 1 Million Black Businesses (1MBB). 1MBB provides grants that go toward pairing a Black small business owner or prospective business owner with a small business coach to help them improve their business skills over an 8 week program culminating in a competitive pitchout where prospective owners showcase their new business plans. Synchrony’s involvement with Operation HOPE provides aspiring entrepreneurs the building blocks they need to build foundationally strong businesses.
Additionally, Synchrony sponsored Operation HOPE’s digital transformation effort. This effort enables them to scale their presence to reach as many small businesses as possible, evaluate their impact using data to become more effective, and most importantly, increase access to their resources for small business owners, meeting them where they are.

On an interpersonal level, Synchrony employees engage by participating on panels and providing feedback on the business plans created by the entrepreneurs.
